Keeping Our Little Ones Safe From Toxic Toys
Do our kids’ toys contain toxic chemicals?
There are definite concerns about the toxic chemicals used in childrens toys these days. Phthalates are one of the hazardous chemicals used by toy manufactures, particularly in plastics.
Phthalates are used to soften plastics and to make them more flexible. This product is used in plastic baby bottles, the lining of food and beverage cans, bath books, rubber ducks, teething rings, as well as IV bags used in hospitals and nail polishes.
Studies have linked phthalates to hormone disruption, breast and prostate cancer cell growth, early puberty, and early development. Many places in the world have already banned this product, but unfortunately here in America, it is still widely used.
