Calming & Immunity Boosting Shiitake Tea
Besides being one of the main ingredients in many Asian dishes, and base for Vegetable Stock, shiitake mushrooms have many medicinal purposes and are especially known for it’s anti-cancerous properties.
Shiitake will also strengthen the immune system, possess antibacterial properties, reduce platelet aggregation, or possess antiviral properties.
Shiitake tea is often recommended for calming the nerves, will help with anxiety and relieve stress.
1 medium dry shiitake mushroom
1 Cup filtered water
3-5 drops Shoyu (soy-sauce)
Place water and shiitake mushroom in a small pot and bring to boil.
Simmer uncovered for 20 minutes.
Add shoyu and simmer for 2-3 more minutes.
Same shiitake mushroom can be used twice in the preparation of tea or can be added to other dishes.
Shiitake tea should not be consumed more than 1 Cup daily, 1/2 Cup at the time. If a serious condition is in question, please consult you physician and / or your nutritional counselor before consumption.
